NWBLT Welcomes Mike Gauterin as United Utilities Representative

NWBLT is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Gauterin from United Utilities as its new representative. Mike’s experience across major infrastructure and service organisations, together with his specialist knowledge of cyber and physical security, will bring valuable insight to NWBLT at a time when resilience is an increasing priority for organisations across the region.
As the UK’s largest listed water company, United Utilities provides water and wastewater services to around seven million people across the North West of England, playing a vital role in supporting the region’s communities, economy and infrastructure.
Mike joined United Utilities in January 2023 and brings more than 20 years’ experience across the infrastructure and telecommunications sectors. His extensive background spans customer service, commercial management, supply chain operations, governance and compliance, alongside his accreditation as a Chartered Arbitrator.
In his current role at United Utilities, Mike is responsible for cyber and physical security governance and compliance across the group.
Prior to joining United Utilities, Mike held several senior leadership positions at BT Group, including Managing Director of Customer Service for BT’s Enterprise division, where he oversaw all business-to-business services, including delivery of the UK’s 999 service, supporting more than £6 billion in revenue.
Mike also previously led supply chain operations across BT Group and directed Civil Engineering and Supplier Management strategy for Openreach. Earlier in his career, he served as Commercial Director at Balfour Beatty following a strong foundation in commercial management.
