NWBLT welcome new member from MACE, Rachel ODonnell
The North West Business Leadership Team has welcomed Rachel O’Donnell, Lead for Nuclear and Energy at Mace, as its latest new member. Rachel is a nationally respected leader in the nuclear and energy sectors, with over 20 years experience in major programme delivery.
In her day job, Rachel is responsible business development and delivery across the nuclear and energy portfolio at the global consultancy and construction company, Mace. Prior to this, she led Mace’s retrofit team, advising and supporting clients with the challenge of keeping their assets, estates and places relevant, fit for purpose and in line with national climate targets.
Chair of the North West Business Leadership Team, Jonathan Murphy, welcomed the news:
‘We are delighted that Rachel has joined us as our newest NWBLT member representing Mace. Rachel brings with her a wealth of expertise that will add huge value to our work. In addition to being a champion of women in engineering, she is also an alumni of the NWBLT’s Rising Stars Group and is soon to be formally announced as the new Chair of the Northern Nuclear Alliance. We are very much looking forward to working with her and her colleagues at Mace.”
Rachel said:
“The North West has a rich heritage in the nuclear sector, with Heysham, Springfields, Capenhurst, Sellafield, and the Low Level Waste Repository all well known for their important roles, and a strong research and development community also operating behind the scenes. I’m excited to be able to bring my knowledge and influence in the nuclear industry, as well as the project and programme delivery experience of Mace’s consultancy arm, to the NWBLT. Equally, I can’t wait to hear from members and take my own learnings back to sector peers and Mace’s projects and people across the region.”
