The North West Business Leadership Team (NWBLT) has launched its new 3-year Action Plan, setting out its priorities and proposed commitments on behalf of the region for the next three years. The Action Plan, entitled “Making the Difference”, covers the period from 1 January 2006 to 31 December 2008 and includes NWBLT’s principal commitments to support the region’s economic development during this period.

The Northwest Business Leadership Team (NWBLT) and Culture Northwest are proud to announce the four short listed cultural organisations from the North West for the Lever Prize 2006 as: Liverpool Biennial of Contemporary Art, North of England Zoological Society – Chester Zoo, the Royal Northern College of Music and The Wordsworth Trust.
Over thirty leading arts and cultural organisations from throughout the North West have submitted entries for the Lever Prize, the region’s new annual award programme for a creative approach to arts and business collaboration.
The Chairman of the North West Business Leadership Team, John Roberts, and other members of the Team welcomed the North West’s MPs, MEPs and Peers to a reception at the United Utilities Conference Centre, Lingley Mere, Warrington.
The North West’s leading businesses have launched The Lever Prize, an annual award for world-class arts organisations in the region. The £10,000 cash award aims to bring business and the arts closer together, and to revive the philanthropic traditions practised by successful industrialists of the past.
The North West Business Leadership Team’s private sector group received an inspirational presentation recently from Professor Tom Cannon on the work of the newly established Merseyside Entrepreneurship Commission.
