NWBLT's Mission

To make the North West the UK’s most attractive region in which to live and work for generations to come

NWBLT will achieve this by:

NWBLT works closely with the Northwest Regional Development Agency and other regional partners, and seeks to reinforce the beneficial impact of the North West’s Regional Strategies and strategic policy initiatives affecting the region.

NWBLT plays an active advisory role in the production and periodic updating of Regional Strategies, working alongside NWDA and its partners to identify and address major issues and challenges affecting the sustainable economic development, and social and environmental well-being, of the region. NWBLT is particularly concerned to help the region re-establish itself as a leading national and international location for business investment.

The main focus of NWBLT’s own work is on a small number of key strategic priorities which its members
believe require the collective support of leading North West businesses in order to be satisfactorily addressed. These include improving the levels of business skills; optimising the region’s innovative capabilities and its response to the threat of climate change; identifying and addressing key transport issues; and acting as regional ambassadors in promoting the region’s many attractions and advantages. Groups of NWBLT members work together in each of these priority areas to ensure we achieve the optimum impact for the future benefit of the region.
